WHAT IS 9-1-1?

911 is the emergency telephone number that you can dial 24 hours a day for POLICE, FIRE or MEDICAL emergencies.

WHEN SHOULD YOU DIAL 9-1-1?

Dial 911 immediately when life or property is in danger.  Don’t wait for someone else to make the call.

WHERE CAN YOU DIAL 9-1-1?

911 is a free call and can be dialed from any home, coin or cellular phone.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CALL 9-1-1 BY MISTAKE ?

DO NOT HANG UP.  Stay on the line until the Dispatcher confirms your address and phone number.  If you hang up a Police Officer will be sent to your location.

AMBULANCE 391-6900

NOTE:  We still take emergencies on these lines.

HOW DO WE KNOW WHEN SCHOOL IS CLOSED ?

DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 or any of the Police, Fire, and Ambulance numbers.

391-8880 is for school closings.

If school is closed, the fire siren will sound one blast at 6:30am and one blast at 7:00am.

For early dismissals, the siren will sound at 11:00am.


TRI-BORO DISPATCH HISTORY : TRI-BORO DISPATCH serves the towns of Park Ridge, Montvale, and Woodcliff Lake.  The Dispatch Center was established in 1946 and recently celebrated it's 50th anniversary.  There are five fulltime dispatchers, including a Supervisor.  There are also eight part time dispatchers.  All 9-1-1 calls for Police, Fire, and Ambulance go through Tri-Boro for the three towns.  We also serve as the secondary 9-1-1 answering point for the Borough of Westwood.
