Councilmember John Kane

COUNCILMEMBER JOHN KANE

John is a life-long resident of the Pascack Valley area having grown up in Montvale and now settled in Park Ridge with his wife Onuma.

A graduate of Villanova University with a B.S. of Accountancy, John has made his career on Wall Street as a Controller for major investment bank trading divisions for 15 years. John’s responsibilities have included: fiscal reporting, operational control, budgets, cost saving/efficiency projects, reviewing and signing off trading unit’s balance sheets and income statements. John has managed Controller teams for trading desks that have generated trading revenues that have ranged up to $1.2 Billion annually.

John has worked for Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase where he met his wife Onuma. Onuma graduated from Baruch College with a B.S. of Accounting.

John joined Royal Bank of Scotland Greenwich Capital in 2007 as Vice President of Derivatives Product Control. John has been actively involved in the corporate Everybody Wins power lunch school reading program. This is a one on one lunch time literacy and mentoring program aimed for lower income students with reading challenges. John is an Eagle Scout and supports the Boys Scouts of America.

John brings his career expertise and deep community roots to the Borough as it faces many challenges in the future. John was elected to the council in November 2008 and currently serves as a member of the Finance Committee, liaison to the Board of Health, Technology and PKRG Cable Access Committees.
