10/30/2012 - Mayors Message to Residents - 5:00 pm
Although the storm has passed, hazardous conditions still exist on many streets in the Boro. Residents are asked to use extreme caution if walking or venturing outside as there are still electric wires on the ground that may be live.
Our Utility crews have made significant progress today and we estimate approximately 90% of our electric customers now have power. Our electric system is operating on one of the two redundant power feeds from PSE&G. As of this morning, several important electric feeder cables were restored but additional electrical outages remain. Restoral of many of these remaining outages will require tree removal or pole replacement and will take some time to fully repair. We ask for your patience as our electric department crews work to restore power to these remaining areas. Our Water system remains fully operational and our water remains safe to drink.
If you have already called to report an outage, we will notify you as soon as we are able to provide an estimated time of restoral. If you are experiencing a power outage and have not notified us, we ask that you call the Park Ridge Utility department at 201-391-2113.
I would like to commend all of our emergency services and utility personnel and volunteers for their efforts during the storm. Our community has once again come together to help each other in this time of crisis. Please use caution and please be safe. This message will repeat.
