
COUNCILMEMBER RICHARD HENNING
Richard Henning is responsible for managing relationships
with the media and overseeing both internal and external communications for
United Water. He also provides oversight for community relations nationwide.
Over the last decade, Henning has directed United Water communications programs
to consumers, stockholders, the media and the public. Henning has also been
responsible for multiple national marketing campaigns that have positioned
United Water as the leader in the water and wastewater industry. Over the years
Henning has specialized in managing crisis communications and launching water
conservation programs to the public. He has spoken in national forums on both
subjects.
Before joining United Water, Henning had a distinguished 10-year career in the
electronics industry. He held key senior management positions with General
Electric, RCA Corporation and Panasonic Company. He was also a sportswriter for
The Record. His service to the community includes being elected to the Council
in the Borough of Park Ridge. Henning is also Chairman of the Board of Directors
for the Heroes and Cool Kids Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated
to mentoring elementary school children and he is a member of the Board of
Directors for Pascack Valley Hospital, the Foundation for Free Enterprise and
the Bergen-Hudson Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Henning holds a degree in communications from Rutgers University, where he has
also taught media relations as an adjunct professor. He is member of the New
York State Water Wise Council and the American Water Works Association.
